【DazaifuTenmangu】
Dazaifu Tenmangu, located in Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is one of Japan's most renowned Shinto shrines. Dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, a revered scholar, poet, and deity of learning, the shrine holds a central place in the Tenjin faith. Known for its symbolic plum blossom crest, Dazaifu Tenmangu attracts over 2 million visitors annually during Hatsumode (the first shrine visit of the year) and more than 8.5 million visitors throughout the year.

Alongside Kyoto's Kitano Tenmangu, it is one of the principal Tenmangu shrines in Japan, serving as both a spiritual hub and a place of deep reverence for those who honor Sugawara no Michizane. Whether you come to pray for academic success, enjoy the serene beauty of its grounds, or explore its historical significance, Dazaifu Tenmangu offers a meaningful experience for all visitors.
【Sapporo Beer Factory (Kyushu Hita)】
02.jpg
Sapporo Breweries Ltd. is one of Japan’s most renowned and historic beer manufacturers, with a legacy that dates back to 1876. It all began when the Japanese government’s Hokkaido DevelopmentCommission established the first Sapporo Beer Brewery in Sapporo City, Hokkaido. This brewery introduced the now-famous "cold-brewed Sapporo Beer," which became a hallmark of Japanese brewing craftsmanship.
The company’s name comes from the city of Sapporo, where the brewery was founded, and has since become synonymous with high-quality beer. Over the years, Sapporo Breweries has grown into an iconic brand both in Japan and internationally, known for its premium lagers and innovative brewing techniques.
In 1949, as part of a major restructuring in Japan’s post-war economy, Sapporo Breweries was established as a separate company. In 1964, it was officially renamed Sapporo Breweries Ltd. By 2003, the company transitioned into a holding company, with Sapporo Breweries Ltd. focusing purely on brewing, while the holding company manages various business ventures.
Today, tourists can learn more about this rich history at the Sapporo Beer Museum, the only museum in Japan dedicated to beer. The museum offers an immersive experience into the history of Sapporo Beer, showcasing everything from its founding in the Meiji era to the modern brewing process, and allowing visitors to sample its famous beers.
A visit to Sapporo Breweries offers a unique opportunity to explore one of Japan’s most storied brands while enjoying the history and culture of Sapporo itself.
【Kinrin Lake】

03.jpg

Kinrin Lake is a famous pond located within Yufuin Onsen in Yufu City, Oita Prefecture. As one of the sources of the Oita River, it is renowned for its enchanting morning mist that envelops the water's surface, creating one of the most iconic landscapes of Yufuin Onsen.
The lake’s bottom produces a blend of hot spring water and fresh water, with five rivers flowing into it, including one that carries warm spring water at approximately 30°C. Due to the temperature difference, especially during autumn and winter mornings, mist often rises from the lake, creating a dreamy and ethereal scene. This mist is said to contribute to the "morning fog" unique to the Yufuin Basin, which drapes the area in a phenomenon poetically known as the "Fog Basin," a signature feature of Yufuin's natural beauty.
Nestled at the foot of Mount Yufu, the lake was historically referred to as "池下之池" or "池ん下ん池," meaning "the pond beneath the mountain." In 1884 (Meiji 17), Confucian scholar Mori Kuso named it Kinrin Lake ("Golden Scaled Lake") after witnessing the scales of fish glimmering like gold under the setting sun.
Today, about a quarter of the lakeshore is bordered by the KamenoiBessou inn. It is believed that the Yufuin Basin was once a vast lake, and Kinrin Lake is a remnant of this ancient body of water. Historically, the lake’s area was said to be several times larger than its current size. However, it has gradually shrunk and become shallower due to landslides triggered by earthquakes over the centuries.
Kinrin Lake is a must-visit destination for those seeking the serene beauty and mystical charm of Yufuin's natural wonders.
